Transparency in the General Assemblies of the Brazilian Olympic Committee.
Last week the International Olympic Committee (IOC) held a historic Session. This is because, for the first time in history, its members met virtually. The IOC meeting took about five hours and is available on Youtube for those who want to see it. In fact, the entire meeting was broadcast live on the Olympic Channel.
The IOC’s AGENDA 2020 preaches, among other things, the emphasis on transparency of the Olympic Movement. That is why the IOC assemblies have been broadcast live for some time. Our proposal for a POSITIVE AGENDA FOR COB is based on Agenda 2020 and Future for Global Sport. We want to give Confederations autonomy, value the Athlete and, of course, emphasize corporate governance.
Thus, it is written in our POSITIVE AGENDA, in the chapter dealing with COMMUNICATION, that all COB general assemblies will be broadcast live on social networks and on COB TV, which we will create.
We will follow the example of the IOC, we will be absolutely transparent and guardians of the rules of governance. This will also be a very important factor to restore the institution’s credibility and give comfort to the private sector so that it can invest again in the Olympic Sport in Brazil.
